Toronto, Ontario (October 1, 2018) – PIMCO Canada Corp. (“PIMCO Canada”) today announces the launch of the U.S. dollar exchange-traded fund (ETF) series of the PIMCO Monthly Income Fund (Canada) (TSX:PMIF.U).

“An ETF series provides our Canadian investors with an additional access point to the established PIMCO Monthly Income Fund (Canada)” said Stuart Graham, Managing Director and Head of PIMCO Canada.  “We can give clients the ability to choose the series that best suits their investment objectives.”

The launch of the ETF(US$) Series builds on the success of the Canadian dollar ETF Series (TSX: PMIF) launched in 2017. The ETF series are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The existing ETF Series units can be bought in Canadian dollars only, and the new ETF(US$) Series can be bought in U.S. dollars only. The ETF (US$) Series is intended for investors with U.S. dollars who seek U.S. currency exposure and income.

PIMCO Monthly Income Fund (Canada) is an actively managed bond portfolio that invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of non-Canadian dollar fixed income instruments of varying maturities. The fund is managed by Dan Ivascyn, Managing Director and Group Chief Investment Officer, Alfred Murata, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager and Joshua Anderson, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager.
